Are you looking for bachelors/masters/M-tech/PhD degrees in Earth Science/Geology/Geophysics and other related subjects? Check this webpage (https://geoedu.weebly.com/career/geoinsti-india) where you can find a vast list of Indian institutes and universities offering these degrees. These degrees are also the key to get professional positions in different national and international governmental and public sector institutes like the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Oil and natural gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Coal India Limited (CIL), Schlumberger, Shell, Atomic Mineral Division (AMD), Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), etc.!
Feel free to add comments to point out some modifications and corrections. Also, if you need an expert opinion before choosing any of these institutes, you may want to contact us! GE will arrange a personal interview with alumni of your chosen institute, to help you decide over your choices. Best wishes! Jyotirmoy Paul, Researcher Indian Institute of Science, Contact via Twitter Disclaimer: Unfortunately, this article will be useful only for those who are privileged to get a computer and good internet connection. The pandemic has made our life stagnant. Students are suffering the most because their colleges and universities are completely shut down. The online classes are not that effective. Many students have asked us about possible opportunities for internships. Unfortunately, in this COVID time, when PhD students have restricted access to the labs, supervisors hardly accept any intern students in their labs.
Most students do not know how to utilise this free time and learn something new by themselves. I will talk about some self-resourced free software/tools that can be accessed from home if you have a computer. Though these software/packages are more familiar to geophysics researchers; however, students interested in any Earth Science discipline can learn and utilize them as per their needs. Author: Jyotirmoy Paul, Indian Institute of Science ...it may not be true that many geologists leave industry, several are happily staying back there for a long time. Still the question remains valid for a good number of people who left their jobs and returned to academia. What are the reasons behind it? |
